The Hub

In 2005 the Friends of the Cranbrook Public Library undertook a large project to make the Cranbrook Public Library more relevant and accessible to Cranbrook’s youth. The result was The Hub, a physical location within the Library, a state of mind, and a youth-oriented web portal. The web site, the virtual version of The Hub, is an inter-active educational and cultural opportunity that the Friends of the Library turned over to the Cranbrook Public Library to continue to develop and maintain.

The Hub is an excellent example of what community volunteers can do to involve youth in community development, participation and community resource access. We created the opportunity, and they came!
