Members and Membership

The Friends of the Cranbrook Public Library are an incorporated non-profit service group dedicated to making the educational and cultural life of the Cranbrook area more inclusive and approachable. The Cranbrook Public Library offers something for everyone, and the Friends of the Library are a group that helps in a very large way to make that happen.

Our members can join either as individuals or as families. The member dictates his or her involvement. The opportunity is available to contribute financially, as well as with volunteer service. To take out your membership now, please click here to download our membership form (Click here to download Acrobat reader) you can either type or print the form, complete it and mail it with a cheque to the Friends of the Cranbrook Public Library at 1212 2nd Street North, Cranbrook V1C 4T6. Membership forms can also be picked up at the library. Our membership year runs from September 1st to August 31st of the following year.

Membership does have its privileges. First and foremost members have the knowledge that they are part of one of Cranbrook’s most active and positive public service groups. Members are entitled to a 10% discount at Lotus Books, Casey's Greenhouses and the Friends' Magazine & Book Sales. Newcomers to the community are certainly welcome and joining and volunteering is a great way to meet likeminded people. Members receive What’s The Story?, our newsletter and thereby are kept aware of the entertainment and learning opportunities available to library supporters.

If you have more questions about membership, please contact the Membership Chair.

The Board meetings of the Friends of the Library occur at 12:10 on the third Tuesday of each month. If you would like to introduce yourself to the organization and observe what it does, please contact the President and then attend a meeting. You will not be sorry!!
